The Editing Style Guide outlines a standard of clean and consistent formatting for all articles on the Kim Kardashian Hollywood Wiki. When editing on the Wiki, please keep the following guidelines in mind.

General Style Guidelines

When creating a new page or editing an article, note the following:

  • If you have never edited on a Wikia before, learn more about coding and formatting here.
  • English is the official language of this Wiki. Other languages are currently not supported.
  • Use proper spelling. Kim Kardashian: Hollywood is an American game, so please adhere to American English spelling when writing (e.g. "color" and "favorite").
  • Use title case ("Kim Kardashian") when referring to characters, goals, locations and buildings. Sentence case may be used only when it is used in the game (e.g. "The Smell of Success").
  • Use only facts, not opinions.
  • When editing an article, don't forget to include a summary of what you changed.
  • Categories are used to sort articles by their main topic. Do not add more categories to an article than necessary.
    • The current categories used on the Wikia are considered to be appropriate for the content of the game. If you'd like to suggest an additional category, please contact an Administrator before adding it to an article.
  • Templates are used to order important information on an article page. Use the appropriate template for each article.
    • Do not remove templates from pages.

Images

When adding an image to the Wiki, note the following:

  • Give your files a descriptive name. Images with file names such as "IMG 124.jpg" will be deleted by an administrator.
  • Before uploading an image, check to see if the Wikia already has a similar image. Duplicate images will be deleted by an administrator.
  • Images should be in .jpg or .png format to ensure faster loading of pages.
  • Try to create images according to these specifications:
    • All images should measure 240 by 240 pixels with a 1px solid black border (example).
    • Exceptions are:
      • Achievements: 95 by 85 pixels with a 1px solid black border (example).
      • Building Exteriors: 665 by 675 pixels with a 1px solid black border (example).
      • Character Goal Icons: 100 by 93 pixels without a border (example).
      • Feed Icons: 65 by 65 pixels without a border (example).
      • Furniture: 120 by 120 pixels with a 1px solid black border (example).
      • Kustomizations: 95 by 85 pixels with a 1px solid black border (example).
      • Tappables: 120 by 120 pixels with a 1px solid black border (example).
    • If you do not have the resources available to create an image for an article, please use the "Image Missing" template by copying and pasting the following code:
      [[File:ImageMissing.png]]
  • Images that do not meet the above guidelines will be removed by an administrator.

Page Editing

When editing specific pages on the Wiki, follow the following steps:

Buildings

Example page: Love And Hope Adoption Center

  • Each building should be added to the appropriate category. There are four four types of buildings:
    • Social Buildings: buildings where you can go on dates;
    • Work Buildings: buildings where you can complete projects and goals;
    • Businesses: buildings you can own and make money from;
    • Miscellaneous Buildings: buildings that don't fall into any of the other categories.
    • A building may fall into two categories. In that case, fill in its primary category. For example, Panino is both a Social Building and a Work Building, but because it's a restaurant, it's primarily a Social Building.
  • Each building page should be made up of four (4) elements:
    1. A description of the building.
    2. The Building template, which should be filled in according to the instructions on the template page.
    3. A section on Goals, which contains links to all the goals that take place in that building.
    4. A section on Exterior, which contains a picture of the outside of the building. The picture should measure approximately 665 by 675 pixels with a 1px solid black border (example).
    5. If any of these elements are missing, please insert the "Maintenance" template at the top of the page by copying and pasting the following code:
